Frequently Asked Questions
Sometimes questions arise when you’re considering ordering a book; practical questions about shipping or returns.
But also questions about the book itself, such as who it’s written for and what you can expect.
On this page, you’ll find answers to the most frequently asked questions. If your question isn’t listed here, please feel free to contact us using the contact form at the bottom of the page.

Do I need to have experienced psychosis myself to understand this book?
No. Although the book is based on a personal experience of psychosis, it is written for a wider audience. The story is also about losing one’s bearings, searching for meaning and learning to understand oneself anew; experiences that many people recognise in their own way.
Is this book heavy to read?
The book tackles difficult themes, but it is not written to overwhelm the reader. The story also contains moments of reflection, recognition and hope. Readers find it to be an honest and human story that allows room for a range of emotions.
What makes this book different from other books on mental health?
The Price of Euphoria is neither a guidebook nor a clinical explanation. It is a personal and literary account. It does not attempt to explain everything, but rather seeks to help readers feel and understand what it is like to go through such an experience.
Is the book being self-published?
Yes. The Cost of Euphoria is self-published. This means that the book has been produced without the involvement of a traditional publisher. From writing and design to production and dispatch: this project has been put together with great care and dedication.
Why is the book only available via this website?
At the moment, the book is available for purchase directly via this website. By selling directly, the project can remain independent for now and allows for direct contact with the readers who receive the story.
How do I know my order is secure?
Orders are processed via a secure payment system. Once you have placed your order, you will automatically receive a confirmation email containing the details of your purchase.
Collaboration
The Cost of Euphoria came from a personal story, but it touches on a theme that resonates much more widely: mental health, vulnerability and recovery.
That is why I am open to collaborations with organisations, initiatives and platforms that are committed to fostering greater understanding and openness around mental health.
Think, for example, of talks, discussions, interviews, or other forms of collaboration that allow for honest stories and meaningful dialogue.
Due to my work, I am usually available on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, and in the evenings by arrangement.
Furthermore, 7.5% of the proceeds from every book sold will be donated to the Anoiksis Association, an organisation dedicated to supporting people who have experienced psychosis themselves and their loved ones.
Do you have an idea for a collaboration or would you like to find out more about the book? Please feel free to get in touch via the contact form. I’d be happy to discuss it with you.
